Workspace Overview dashboard
Role-aware starting point for attention, work, schedules, operations and Workspace activity.
/adminFuture Spec 04 →Current-state summary
The live Overview is a permission-scoped operational dashboard for the active Workspace. After membership and Workspace resolution, it presents four summary metrics and eight operational cards covering attention, schedule, active Projects, approvals, tasks, commercial budgets, recent activity and Workspace readiness. The observed dashboard is for Proper Gallery in Registry Administration context and is not evidence of Designer, Provider or Client dashboard variants.

Anatomy and verified behavior
Verification states separate observed behavior from requirements or assumptions.
| Element | Current behavior | Verification |
|---|---|---|
| Utility header | Workspace search, + New project opportunity, + Create, Help and Notifications appear above the dashboard. | Verified live |
| Greeting and context | Displays the current date, Good morning with the signed-in email, and Proper Gallery · Registry Administration. | Verified live |
| Freshness and controls | Displays Updated just now or elapsed freshness plus Customize and Refresh buttons. | Verified live |
| Summary metrics | Shows Active Projects 1, My open tasks 0, Pending approvals 0 and At risk 0 with explanatory labels. | Verified live |
| Requires attention | Mandatory operating queue. Current empty state says nothing requires action and explains that critical, overdue and blocking work stays visible. | Verified live |
| Today and upcoming | Lists dated tasks and milestones linked to the relevant Project. | Verified live with three Rosedale Heritage entries |
| Active work | Shows a Project row with sequence, Project name, Client, primary phase, progress, health and link. | Verified live for Rosedale Heritage / Ava Martin / design / 22% / On Track |
| Waiting and approvals | Shows approval work when available. Current empty state says no approvals are waiting and protects internal drafts. | Verified live |
| Tasks and dependencies | Lists linked task name, Project, state, priority, due date and Project navigation. | Verified live with two waiting tasks |
| Authorized Project budgets | Shows permission-filtered commercial total by currency and Project count. | Verified live: CAD 540,000 across one Project |
| Recent activity | Shows latest Workspace events with source record identifier and relative time. | Verified live |
| Workspace readiness | Shows readiness, visibility, capacity and service-area configuration with a Workspace Profile link. | Verified live |

Product rules
Non-negotiable boundaries
- Every metric and card must project canonical authorized records rather than storing a separate dashboard truth.
- The active Membership controls which Projects, tasks, approvals, budgets and events appear.
- Client, Provider and internal draft information must remain filtered for the current audience.
- Financial cards require explicit permission and identify currency and calculation basis.
- Requires attention remains visible even when empty or when the user customizes other cards.
- A dashboard link never grants authority to its destination record.

What is missing, broken or unverified
Future Spec 04 owns closure →- Only the Registry Administration dashboard has been verified; Designer, Provider and Client variants remain undocumented.
- Recent activity exposes raw event keys such as Workspace.Assisted Access.Ended and internal record identifiers, which are not human-friendly.
- The dashboard still displays the legacy Workspace name Proper Gallery.
- The greeting falls back to the email address instead of a completed preferred name.
- Messages, Proposals and Reports remain placeholder navigation even though dashboard work may depend on them.
- Card-level errors, stale data, offline operation and partial loading have not been observed.
- Metric and progress calculation formulas have not been traced to repository code.
- Mobile and tablet layouts remain unverified.
Future alignment
Required evolution
- 01Create tested dashboard compositions for Designer Studios and every Provider category while reusing the same card framework.
- 02Humanize Activity labels and source references without losing audit traceability.
- 03Add clear card-level freshness, failure and retry behavior.
- 04Ensure every attention item resolves to an accountable person, record and next action.
- 05Use preferred User Profile name and current Design Registry Workspace branding.
- 06Complete permission-controlled commercial, schedule and Provider operational cards defined by Spec 04.
Current baseline
Acceptance record
- The loaded dashboard identifies date, user, Workspace, Workspace type and freshness.
- Four summary metrics and eight operational cards are present.
- Schedule, Project and task rows link to their source Project.
- Empty attention and approval states are explicit.
- Financial information states currency and Project basis.
- Known raw activity labels, legacy naming and unverified role variants are documented.
Reverse-spec completeness
Documentation coverage
The interface is still changing, so visual evidence and repository tracing remain intentionally incomplete.
